I stayed up too late last night, doing nothing at all. Today, when it came time for me to start my day, I couldn't seem to get my gears turning. To make matters worse, I had half forgotten that I was scheduled to take my driving test this morning. I had to be at the Artillery Kaserne at the vehicle registration office by 8:00. I made it about 8:05.
The class was pretty boring for the most part. There were a few comically cheaply made videos that managed to test my will power by tempting my already heavy eye lids to shut. With some determination, I stayed awake. The class took about two and a half hours, and the test I took in about 25 minutes. It is 75 multiple choice and true false questions and 25 sign identification questions. I'm not sure how I scored; only that I passed. Two hours and a ten dollar cashiers' check later, I had my temporary driver's license. I would be excited to get the real one in the mail, but I've seen them, and it is not all that exciting.
I brought my lunch today. I enjoyed it sitting in the sun just outside of the Post Exchange. Today was a really pretty day. While I was sitting and eating, one of my new friends arrived. Richard had the last few days off, and on his final day off, he decided to do some shopping, which is where our paths crossed. We shared a quick conversation about Fussball (Soccer) before I had to get back to the warehouse.
At work, I got to enjoy the wonders of data entry for a short while. We are running a relatively new inventory software, and there are still a few kinks apparently. I was fixing them. The rest of my time was spent as most of my days will be: organizing and restocking.
Just about as soon as I got home from work, I hit my bed with a vengance. After a good hour and half nap, I woke up and went exploring. I didn't get too far before I ran into my roommate, Andrew, and another of my fellow Abramser, Allison, in the kitchen. She was making some pasta, and generously offered me some. I graciously accepted and scarfed the deliciousness. We all shared an extended conversation about living here in Garmisch. Richard even joined in after a short while.
Tomorrow is my day off, and I don't have any real plans. I think I will attempt some laundry, and explore the town a bit. Those are just some ideas though. Who knows what might come up.
