I got to see some of the lovely Bavarian countryside today. My friends Corinne and Jen had to catch a flight out of the Memmingen Airport. It is the closest Ryan Air airport to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and they were lucky enough to get a few days to spend in Spain.
We got a little lost getting out there. It is snowing a bit here and we started around 5:45, so it was still dark. We explored the city of Murnau for about 20 minutes longer than we needed to, as well as got to drive through much of the area Southwest of Munich. The girls did make it to their flight on time, despite our delays, and then I set in for a short two and a half hour trip back home. I hit a couple of Staus on the way back home, which gave me an opportunity to listen to some good ole Bavarian radio. My German comprehension has been getting better, and I was both excited and upset to here about the earthquake in New Zealand during one of the news updates. Luckily, no one in my family was hurt though!
For a guy who likes road trips, it was a good little day away from it all. I got to see some beautiful countryside.
