Helsuh Cohsuh

This is my main school, 설천중학교 (Seolcheon Middle School), and the surrounding villages.
I was invited on a hike after lunch today by my principal, who he repeatedly referred to it as a 헬스코스 (pronounced 'Helsuh Cohsuh') which just means in this context 'a hike for health'.  I work in a very beautiful place.

An Ancient Korean Village

The Label Stone for the Nakan Fortified Village (낙안읍성)

This past weekend I visited the Ancient Nakan Fortified Village (낙안읍성).  It was a real treat to see something that was so old in Korea.

Summer Beginneth

I'm posing (cross-eyed) for a quick picture after my camera was stolen by a student.
Today is the last day of school before summer vacation starts.  Korean summers are pretty hot, and they are only made hotter by the fact that, due to shortage of abundant energy, often Koreans will forego turning on their A/C units.  However, my Texan blood has been well prepared for such heat, but I can still complain.  After all, complaining about the weather is practically a sport in Texas.
